Established in the late 1990’s, the Pewamo-Westphalia Boosters is a non-profit organization with the purpose of raising funds which are used to promote a positive attitude toward high school students and to support the academic and athletic programs of the Pewamo-Westphalia Community Schools.
To date, the P-W Boosters have provided more than $70,000 in financial support to numerous organizations and projects including:
Pirate Pete’s costume, high school sign, engineering/robotics club, heart rate monitors, books for accelerated reader program, baseball dugouts, softball dugouts, student and staff incentives, the “gator”, trophy case, cheerleading practice mirrors, science room safety shield and ventilation hood, batting cages, classroom “smart boards”, homecoming festivities and class trips.
Individuals/Academic/Athletic groups requesting monetary support from the Boosters must contact a Booster representative to be put on the agenda of the next regularly scheduled meeting. Requestor must present a written proposal or be present at the meeting to discuss their proposal with booster members. Decisions to award funding are made by the booster members within a week. Special or unusual requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Membership is open to anyone in the P-W district and per Booster bylaws (also per coach’s handbook) there shall be two representatives for each high school sport.
